The 4D HIFU machine delivers high-intensity ultrasound energy deep into the facial tissues and the SMAS layer (muscles), which is the same layer tightened during a conventional surgical facelift. It is within these deep and subdermal layers where the focused ultrasound energy results in microtrauma resulting in a natural body response. As the tissue heals over the 6 – 12 weeks it contracts, tightens and stimulates new collagen production. Collagen is what keeps your skin youthful. It’s the substructure upon which the skin relies on, but as we age the collagen production naturally slows, resulting in the appearance of wrinkles, jowls, eye bags and less elasticity in the skin – all the typical signs of aging.
Stimulating new collagen is very difficult and many look for anti-aging creams and serums to help promote new collagen. For many clients this does not work as the serum does not get deep enough into the skin layers to stimuli new collagen. Following a HIFU treatment, as the collagen fibers recover, they shorten resulting in a tightening effect on the skin – giving you back the youthful results you’ve been waiting for.
Although most patients find this treatment pain free some clients may feel mild discomfort especially near bone and chin areas. HIFU takes 6-12 weeks to see the final result, however, many clients see around 20% results on the same day. Most clients experience tighter skin, and smoother skin texture on the same day with furtherresults to develop over the coming weeks. The effects for HIFU can last up to a year and usually 1- 2 sessions are needed*.
Many clients only need one HIFU facial treatment. However, based on the degree of skin laxity, the biological response to ultrasound energy and the client’s collagen-building process, some clients benefit from additional treatment after 4 weeks.
